What is Torticollis?

Torticollis is a twisting of the neck that causes the head to rotate and tilt at an angle.

What Causes Torticollis

In children it is common in newborns and is a result of the baby’s position in the uterus.
In adults it’s a result of a muscle spasm or strain often caused by whiplash, other injuries, or sleeping in an awkward position. It can also be a symptom of another issue such as herniated disc.

Treatment for Torticollis

Chiropractic physical therapy is a great solution for torticollis even in newborns. Our providers will focus on the alignment and the supporting muscles, ligaments, and tendons. Mitigate the issue and prevent it from returning. If there is a second injury, we will treat both at the same time.
