What is Tarsal Tunnel?
Tarsal Tunnel syndrome is the Carpal Tunnel of the foot. In 4-legged animals, the front and back legs are the same; us 2 legged animals the top and bottom limbs are similar. Much like in the wrist, the pathway for the nerves is very narrow. Issues arise when there is a compression or squeezing of the tibial nerve producing similar symptoms to carpal tunnel. It is not unusual to be misdiagnosed as plantar fasciitis

Chiropractors can adjust extremities. These adjustments are not painful and can allow for the joints to function better and reduce swelling and inflammation in the nerve pathways. Physical therapy such as Ultrasound therapy, exercises and other physical therapy modalities may be prescribed to reduce symptoms. It is really hard to ignore foot pain!
