How do I know I have disc pain?
Are you experiencing:
Back Pain
Pain or various sensations that travel down the leg or arm.
Burning or numbness
Weakness in arm or leg
Difficulty with daily tasks such as opening a jar, walking or stairs.
Disc injuries are the most common reason for back pain. And are responsible for 85% of all back pain conditions.
Why do discs have so many problems?
Try NOT to use your spine today! To understand discs, we need an anatomy lesson.
The “Spine” is made up of the vertebrae, the spinal cord, and the discs. Discs act as spacers making room for the nerves to exit and serve as shock absorbers.
Discs have essentially 2 parts: an inner nucleus and outer annular fibers. It’s been described as a jelly doughnut.
For many reasons, such as wear and tear, age, genetics, lifestyle, and daily activities cause the discs to wear. When they wear out, the outer fibers dry and weaken. Disc injuries progress through levels of severity and presentation. Interesting to note though, the degree of pain and symptoms does not necessarily increase or decrease as the condition moves up or down the chain.
The thing about disc pain is that it hurts! Not only does it hurt at the site of the disc it also hurts down the affected nerve path. There are two types of pain localized where the pain is only in the affected area and radicular where the pain follows a nerve path such as pain down an arm or a leg.
You feel localized pain at the affected site
Muscle spasms around the spine and surrounding joints
Referred pain down the arm or leg
Nerve pain, numbness, tingling, burning down the arm or leg
Weakness and loss of mobility in the hand or walking, and stairs begin to be an issue
Treatment for Disc Issues
Disc issues progressively get worse. Most people of a certain age begin to have disc degeneration; it’s akin to arthritis in the disc, but further degeneration can be stopped. Chiropractic, Spinal Decompression, and Physical Therapy are excellent solutions for healing and treating disc issues. Don’t wait until it’s too late. Patients who seek treatment for disc pain early, have better results.

“As a professional major league pitching coach, I know what pain is. When I injured my back working out I couldn’t do a thing. I got chiropractic care and cortisone shots in my back. They didn’t do much at all. Spinal Decompression treatment worked great, it relieved me of most of my pain. I can workout and pitch. Most of all I’m good enough to get back to my team and hope to have a great season. I recommended Spinal Decompression treatment to all the players on the team who have back pain.”
– Darrel A, San Diego Padres
“I was scheduled for surgery, but luckily I found this decompression therapy. After my treatment, I played 18 holes of golf and hiked 12 miles in one weekend. Without it, I would have been at home on my couch in pain.”
– Mike C.
“I couldn’t walk, sleep, sit, or drive. I had no quality time with my family and I felt less of myself. Now I feel like a new man, I have my confidence and self esteem back. Thanks to Spinal Decompression I am pain free.”
– Tony G.
“I was in severe pain, with a sharp burning sensation in my low back. I feel so much better. I am off pain medications and am able to resume my old life. I was told surgery would be my only hope, but instead it was Spinal Decompression.”
– Erika B.

If you suffer from any type of pain or limited movement due to injury, age, or genetics, we've very likely helped countless others with the same conditions. If you're in pain, your body is telling you something is wrong. Even if you've been told by others there is no evidence of injury and therefore no treatment option, we can help.
