What is Costochondritis?

Costochondritis translates as inflammation of the costal cartilage, a major component of the chest and rib cage. It is an extremely painful condition affecting the chest and ribs and is more common in women.

Causes of Costochondritis?

Usually, the cause of Costochondritis is not known. The inflammation may have originated with trauma to the chest, lifting heavy objects, intense exercise, or an illness with excessive cough or sneezing. It often occurs during times of emotional stress.

Treatment for Costochondritis?

Manual therapy of the chest and ribs along with Chiropractic adjustments of the thoracic spine are very effective treatments. The most effective though is Cold Laser. Cold Laser uses the energy from light waves to flush inflammation and pain out of the system.
