Do You Suffer from Headaches or Migraines?
Are you one of 9 out of 10 Americans who suffer from headaches? No two headaches are created equal. Headaches can vary from constant to frequent to occasional. Some headaches cause not just debilitating pain but also nausea/vomiting and visual and hearing disturbances. They can be one-sided, 2-sided, front-back, or all the above. Headaches can feel like a vice, pressure, stabbing, poking, piercing, throbbing, and/or pounding, and more. They also do not discriminate young or old, male, or female; it seems everyone is susceptible to headaches.
There are dozens of different types of headaches and even more sub-genres. The more common types are tension, Temporal, Sinus, Hypertensive, Cervicogenic, Occipital…Migraines (not even the most painful) are a special type with many sub-types. They are vascular events triggered by light, sound, smell, hormones, food, or drink. They can be incapacitating. Sometimes, they don’t even cause pain but disabling phenomena known as aura and prodrome.
There’s really no such thing as a “regular” headache. There are more variations to headaches than there are grains of sand in Ocean City. When it comes to headaches, few of them actually occur because of something wrong in the head. With many headaches there is a known cause and ways to either fix or manage them with chiropractic, PT, massage, acupuncture, or other treatment modalities. Even with the rare conditions, we’ve been able to control the pain and symptoms for our patients.
What do you do when you suffer from a pounding headache? Do you grit your teeth and carry on? Lie down? Pop a pill and hope the pain goes away? There is a better alternative.
Just as there are many types of headaches, there are just as many different treatments. As with most things, all treatment plans need to start with a thorough exam and diagnosis. At that point, our doctors can prescribe the best path for you. Be it Chiropractic, Physical therapy, Acupuncture, Massage, Dry Needling, or a combo of any or all.
#1: Treat the symptoms and provide relief

Our goal is to stop the headaches or migraines, heal the area, and prevent them from happening.
Those who suffer from headaches and or migraines should seek treatment as soon as possible, but it is never too late. Dr. Lee’s daughter has even struggled with post-trauma headaches after a concussion. The professionals at Susquehanna Spine & Rehab understand first-hand how frustrating it is to get answers. An expert neurologist at Johns Hopkins recommends vitamin supplements, chiropractic care, PT, and acupuncture as a first choice for the treatment of headaches and migraines. Post-COVID healthcare has made it difficult for specialist appointments with often months waiting for an initial appointment. Why wait? Many patients opt to try treatments at Susquehanna Spine & Rehab when they wait for specialist appointments and often times the symptoms are alleviated or gone before they make it to that initial appointment.
There are many different types of headaches and even more causes why you may be experiencing them. While headaches are common it is not normal to experience them often it is a sign that something is wrong and needs some help.
Our providers will assess your condition, find the root cause of your pain, and customize a treatment plan. Call today!
“I have chronic migraines and have been dealing with them for years now. Over the years, I have been to several doctors, been on several medications, and tried everything possible to find what could be triggering so many migraine attacks every month. I finally decided to give chiropractic care a try, which was completely new to me. Dr. Lee and the staff are not only knowledgeable but so friendly and I quickly became very comfortable there. The frequency of my headaches has decreased significantly each month since I started treatment. I am so happy I found out about this place! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is in need of any type of chiropractic care or rehab.”
